Everyday it is the same routine. Park the car. Walk inside the house. Then I hear the infamous question, “Mom, can I play Mario Kart?”
He is quite the persistant fellow. He will continue to ask periodically until he gets his fix. Once he has played, he will cut it off and walk away. It is truely quiet humorous.
After leaving the gym, conveniently located near Hobby Lobby, I decided to do my cool down while shopping! Multi tasking!! I found on the wood aisle these cute wooden stick puppet, 12 boys and 12 girls. They were a must buy!
Having no idea what I would do with them, the idea came to me to make Mario and Luigi for my son. They turned out so cute and my son loves playing with them.

I painted Mario’s face. The rest of the puppet was painted red, including the back. Then I cut out felt overalls, hat, and accessories.
Are you allowed to use the word “accessories” when describing a man? Can you use the word “man” when describing a video game character? I digress.
I glued the felt pieces on with my high temp glue gun, they aren’t kidding about being high temp. We will leave it at that.
For the finishing touch, I cut out a felt nose and glued it on. I encourage you to give this a go. Make yourself a puppet of your child’s favorite character. Tell me about what you have made! Now watch out for that banana peel!
